Angry Abs System

I have a 97 avalon that the right rear abs sensor (quit) light on dash came on. replaced sensor light went out now pump makes noise as auto slows down can slide wheels but no light any ideas thanx Flaten

Sounds like the sensor isn't installed correctly. They are very sensitive, and if they aren't perfectly flush in their hole, they will give a signal to the computer that makes it think the wheel is turning at a different speed, thus when you step on the brake pedal the ABS system turns on. Take the sensor back out, make sure the hole is clean of rust and any debris, put a little grease on the rubber o-ring of the sensor body, and re-install. Like I said, make sure the sensor is perfectly flat and there are no gaps in the mounting surface.
