Car's trunk release itself on its own...

1997 Toyota Avalon XLS

A while back I notice my car was always running out of battery due to light being left on. I turn off all interior dome lights but still didn't fix the problem. Then I found out my trunk is being release by itself everytime I put it into gear. I then unplug the harness in the trunk for the trunk release. Now I have to manually open trunk with key; its was fine at first but now its getting annoying and I would like to know what is causing my trunk to release on its own so I can fix it. Thank you.

Blown fuse? Is the trunk release button on your key stuck? Have you tried disconnecting the battery and connecting it again to see if it still happens? Did you replace the battery?
