No, My car has been running fine. On the Avalon there is 2 sensor if you are in the state of California. There is an oxygen sensor, and there is an air/fuel ratio sensor. You can go to a Toyota dealership and make sure to ask a manager of which one goes where, I had to go to 2 different dealer and speak to 5 workers until I found my answer from an older wiser manager. Since Toyota made many different kinds of sensor for the two available in the Avalon, workers can commonly mixed them up. So make sure you tell the manager at the dealership which sensor you need for what reason, he hopefully can show you the correct one. I change the one that is located on the exhaust manifold real close to the steering rack and firewall.
Along with that I also replace the VSS. Again, for Avalon models there are a few VSS. (Vehicle Speed Sensor) Again, at the dealership the man can tell you which one to change, I was told by many people that there is 2 on the tranny, some told me there is one in the dash, some even told me there is one in the brakes. But The one I change is on top of the tranny, it sits right in the middle of the tranny if you are looking from top view down, it is right in the middle from end to end. It's the only sensor I remember that is a bit higher than the rest. If you are unsure and would like me to take a picture of the sensor I change feel free to email me at "mikenguyen85@hotmail.com" and I can take pictures of all the parts I change. I feel you, I know how annoying it can be to get this code. I have had this code for while now and no shop can fix it until I got frustrated and went on a mission myself. Now car runs great, gas millage is back to spec.
