USA PUZZLE - Rear window switch replacement.

Folks,

I have a 96 Avalon XLS. The driver side rear window does not roll down. However, when there is heavy rain and I press down the window switch (in the driver side door panel), it works sometimes and the window rolls down. So I know that the motor is fine. How do I replace the switch (I do not know how to get the panel off which has all the window switches). Is there a special tool to get the panel off? Also is replacing the switch straightforward and if so what should I order?

Btw, the window DOES NOT roll down from the rear door control either. So I am assuming that both the switches are non-functioning, though that would be rare. But then the window rolls down from the driver side switch during rain. Could anything else be wrong

TIA.

hey, i thought i replied to your post, but i dont see it showing.

all you need is a flat head screwdriver, slide it in from the top (pointy part of the switch) and pry up in the middle of the panel, there is a small metal clip holding it down in the front and tabs that slide into the arm rest in the back. when i did it, i didnt think it was going to give or i was going to break something, but its the right way to do it (and only) . any Q's just PM me.

Thanks. Got it. Btw, what do you think of the problem I am having. Do you think that the harness just needs to be cleaned (master control switch for the rear window and the rear window switch for the glass) or both the front and back switches have gone bad?
