95 avalon electrical problem

On Sunday, I was driving home from college and it is a nice 16 hour trip. A while back I had to re-solder the cigarette lighter, but I did not properly cover one of the wires, so when there is a load on the lighter and it twists a certain way the cd fuse under the steering wheel would go and I would just put a new one in. Well while i was driving, I started smelling smoke and looked and there was smoking coming out of the cigarette lighter. I pulled out the splitting that had my fm transmitter and my cell phone charger. When I pulled it out the cd fuse blew, but when I looked at the cd fuse the plastic was completely deformed from melting. I replaced the fuse and took everything off the cigarette lighter. At that point the cd player, cigarette lighter, the heater, and the dashboard lights would not work. I am guessing this is an electrical problem since it is unlikely that all of these would fail mechanically at the same time, but I cannot find the problem. All of the fuses in the fuse box under the steering wheel and in the two boxes under the hood seem fine. Can anyone help me here?

Left and right kick panels also have a fuse box, plus behind the glove box. Check the Cig/Radio, Tail, Gauge, Heater fuses and the Alt fusible link. To prevent this from happening again repair or replace the cigarette lighter.
