USA 97 Avalon...Question...

I am thinking about getting myself a 97 avalon XL for 3400. it has 163K on it.

I just wanted to know what people think about the car?

Is it a good price?

The interior is clean. The engine bay is clean.

I am going to test drive it this week and have my mechanic take a look at it before i buy it...of course....

The car is in good condition. I check on KBB and it is listed for 3400 for Fair condition and at NADA the lowest is 4100.

YES I KNOW ITS A YOTA....but still i'd rather just ask

Thanks for the responses...

We'll, my 97 has 166k on it, and I think I could sell it for a $1000 more than your thinking of paying. The only problem is, then I would have to replace it. Let me see, in the last 26k miles I have paid for brakes only, and I would trust this car enough to drive across the country and back in it. Plus, I get good gas mileage, especially when compared to other cars its size. The only thing negative I can say about it is the little speaker suck. I say go for it.

i have a 98 with 130k, and it runs really well. a couple problems, but nothing too costly. its basically stuff thats expected from a 10 year old car.

but i guess you gotta look at the car's history. casue my avy was bought and driven by my dad, who drives SLOW, and he took care of it. this car lasts a while if you drive reasonably.

I got a 97 from my brother-in-law a few months back for 4 grands even. It has 75k miles on it. Brothers don't do bargain, I know the car and the way my in-law driving and taking care of. Everything looks good from inside out. I just installed a pioneer CD/MP3 player by myself, thanks to the one who posted how to install the radio step by step. I had problem when the volume up, it gives some sort of noises. I think the old speakers not good enough for the new Pioneer System? I'm looking for the ways to replace these speakers.

Thanks
