Lexus wheels for 97 Avalon??

Hey All,

I'm new to this forum. Just had a quick question. I'm getting my 97 Avalon XLS repainted this spring (yes, I love my Avy). I figured the paint job might go nice with a set of new wheels. I'm not sure which wheels would fit, but most importantly, look good. I was considering the Lexus ES330 wheels. Those are pretty sharp wheels and was looking at possibly buying those. I thought it might be a good idea to get opinions from other Avalon owners to see what they thought. Any ideas guys/ladies? Below is a link to the ES330 wheel.

Thanks,

- David

any wheel with a 5 x 114.3 bolt pattern will fit. its fairly common, its the same pattern on like the mercury grand marquis, ford mustang (5 lug). ive been looking at the is300 rims for mine, but first my baby needs new paint.

I'm afraid I can't answer your question David, but perhaps you can answer mine! I wanted to get my Avalon XLS repainted too. I have a '96, so we essentially have the same vehicle. I haven't gone in for an estimate yet and I don't really know how much it costs, but I'd like to get an idea. What did they quote you for?

Hey Gruntling...sorry its been a little while since I signed in. Anyhow, if you still need the answer to your question. I am getting my car painted for $1800.00. My brother is in the business and he has a painter that works in the same shop. I would say a decent full paint job would cost you anywhere around $2800-$3000.00. Hopes this helps.

cexsiman,

Do I need to be concerned with the offset? I actually saw a set of IS wheels on a 96 Avy and the wheels did stick out slightly. I'm hoping that I can get a wheel that fits (bolt-pattern + off-set) and look similar to what I have now, just 17 or 18 in. rather than 15 in wheels.

I took my '96 to Macco, and they quoted me 400 dollars with the super cheap paint with a new bumper cover/rust removal. For a new clearcoat the total would be next to 950-1050 dollars.

Jigg007,

I just checked out your ride at cardomain. Its nice! Engine real clean. Nice add-ons. I checked out MAACO too, but for my Maxima I had a little while back (an 86, but I loved that Max!). They quoted me a really cheap price (can't remember, its been a while), but I heard some horror stories about them. I would be careful, if you do decide to take it to them. Just lookin' out.
