Help!

I bought a 97 avalon xl off a guy for a thousand bucks. Its in great shape but the problem is its not running. It appears that it has been sitting for a while maybe 4-5 months(judging by the leaves and pine straw under the hood). I put in a new battery and all lights, radio, power options are working. A kind of weird clicking noise happens as well(not the clicking noise of a starter or alternator) possibly a security thing? any suggestions would be great. Thanks for the help!

Is a security light blinking rapidly in the dash board right by the clock? If so, then yep, you got it right, the engine has been immobilized by the alarm.
