Alright so here's the deal. I drive a 2000 camry right now, I got it in 2003 cert-preowned and have loved it. However it's had some autobody damage from a small hit this past winter that requires only $300 in autobody work to fix. On top of that I'm about to hit my 75k miles mark. So I figured I should it least look to sell my Camry after I get the damage fixed and 75k inspection and maybe pick up something a bit more new. But then my brother just bought himself a new camry and is looking to give up his 1996 black avalon. He said he'd throw it my way free if I'd use it. It's got 180k miles on it, I know it's never been driven hard, regular oil changes and any maintenance required was taken care of quickly. It's in pretty good shape other than the high mileage....
So onto the real reason for posting...I'm not particularly fond of how the first gen avalons look, of course my camry isn't all that different, and it IS free, I'm still looking to improve it's appearance a bit. I'm very much into car audio and my camry has had it's system installed since 03 so I plan to leave it their, and upgrade with a newer system in the avalon.
Anyone have suggestions for appearance improvement of a 96 black avalon? I'm going to have it repainted too, since some paint did begin to chip off in some areas (new england ftl). I'm really hitting a brick wall as far as cosmetic modifications go for this upcoming car. So anything would be appreciated!!
Thanks,

Reason: spelling ftl
defineatly try to throw in some HID's. i put them on my 98 and they look GREAT at night, not to mention the much improved lighting. as you might suspect, there isnt much in the way of body kits for this large sedan, but there are some. with that in mind, they are very hard to come by, i have seen some and can only assume that it could be custom. and new paint job will do wonders for a car as far as looks go. other than that, save your money for another toyota when this one (in many years/miles)goes to the big repair shop in the sky.
My antenna doesn't exist either. Previous owner broke it I think... I still hear the motor. I like it without the antenna though. Gives it a cleaner look. I don't listen to radio anyways, I have XM and CDs so what's the use?

My car has less body roll than I do.

Because local radio is pwn! I adapted the AM attenna that is in the rear window for my FM. It works really well. I put a cellular attenna on my car to cover the hole (Talk about a quick fix on a rainy day, and that it was) It gives the car an.. interesting look.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah it does sort of have that old-look to it. It comes off like a Ford Taurus if you look at it from the totally wrong angle. It does have the tints because it was bought in Texas, so it's got the dark dark look to it, black on black with the tan leather interior. Some rims and if I can lower it would be nice. I'm not sure I'll bother with the HID's, as I generally hate the glare from them in the first place, I might as well not add to the torture of other drivers
This just needs to last me 2-3 years tops but if I can get the look right I'm sure I'd love to never get rid of it like my current 2000 camry.
Mine died last night. Driving friend home and the rear main seal has been leaking, and it completely took a dump on me last night. I wish my brother would give me an avy for free!
