Help 99 XLS no temp/clock/stereo
Hello,
I am new to this forum, but after speaking with a Toyota tech earlier and the issue is still unresolved, I thought I'd give this a try.
Background:
Before I bought my 99 XLS, the high beams flickered at random when turned off, no o/d, no pwr mirror, no clock/temp/radio. I requested the small dealership fix the issue, and the representative told me it was a wiring harness issue, that it was fixed, but that the stereo wouldn't work. I don't know if (and don't think that) this means he replaced the harness itself.
Issue:
I have an aftermarket stereo from my previous car, so I'm not concerned with that of itself. What concerns me are the temp/clock displays, and the fact that there may not be any power coming into them. All fuses are in good working order.
Does anybody know how to fix those displays so that they work? Or: does anybody know where the power leads come from? The tech said they're on the same circuit as the overhead lamp, which is operational. But I think the problem may somehow be connected to the stereo not working.
TIA
