Hello Summer!

okay so ill admit it
i forgot that texas gets hot
I have a 1996 Avy XLS w/ 96000 on it and did some engine work during the cooler months

now that the temperatures are hitting in the 90's
the car litterally sounds like its screaming when it starts up, throttle response lags sometimes to the point of nearly cutting, shifting is jerky and harsh at times, and im worried about overheating

so
is there some way i can put in higher performance cooling systems, or someway to ceap my engine cooler

and
what could be going wrong w/ this squealing and what not

Okay i have done K&N air filter, custom airbox, ive worked w/ the lighting and electronics, etc.... im trying to remember what else
but cant be to sure

its starting to run a little better now two days into it but im still kinda worried

thanks again

thanks

peace

If cars weren't built from the factory to run in the 90s, we'd all be in trouble. What kind of work did you do?

You could check the radiator fan temp switch on the engine, the sensor is like a 30 dollar part. Or being a man of electronics in need of extra cooling, run a manual on-off/overide switch to trigger the fans whenever pleased, perhaps.

Flush the collant and replace it? I don't know if coolant expires or something.
