rear woofer cover

have a '98 Avalon XLS with the big woofer cover with integrated brake light in the center of the rear shelf. I am having my windows tinted tomorrow, and there is hardly any room between this woofer cover and the rear window.
1)Does anyone know if this woofer cover simply pops off with a couple of putty knives on opposite sides?
2)The tint guy says he will take a look at it. i am afraid that if it is left in place they will do a poor job of cutting around it, with the tint curling up or wrinkling shortly.
3)If I let them take it off (in their hurry) I am afraid the cover will never fit on again correctly.

Any advice would be appreciated. I have cancer and want to make one last trip back home to see my old friends and then perhaps onto SE Texas to see my best friend. It's already pretty hot here in SW Florida. Thanks.

Thanks, man. I looked in the damn Hayne's manual but could not find anything. I hope the little bastard comes off.

YES IT COMES OFF! MINE IS OFF because i am fixing the fabric that was coming loose. you have to pry the 'front' off, its kinda hard, but the clips are on either side about 1/2" back, and then pull up and out, and thats it. the whole thing comes out, light and all. to remove the grille you need to remove 4 screws from underneath. good luck
