you need bulb numbers for the dome light and door and map lights if you want to change those. the 'sleeves' for lack of a better description look like tiny condoms and fit over the LED bulbs. they should be universal and available fairly easily online.

New bulbs could be an option

HERE IS A GREAT LINK (its based on a WRX, but it shouldnt be too different)

Hi,
Have you tried to change the color of the climate control panel? I have a 97 and when I took off the faceplate (dials) I found the backing was green as well as the the bulb sleeves. Are all of the Gen1's colored that way? Thanks!

The bulbs are normal for me with green sleeves. I use 168 LED's but had to pull the wire out straight to even make contact. The old bulbs were soldered to their base so I had to snip those out. Took 30-45 minutes the first time to take out the dash but after that im down to like 10 minutes to do everything.

I have changed only the right 2 bulbs and now need to change the left 2.

I replaced my burnt out climate control lights with some lights I robbed out of a defunct car stereo. I had a hard time finding these Toyota climate control lights new.
The condom sleeves on the 'stereo lights' were blue and too dark once installed, so i took off the condoms and just used white light. ( The 'salvage' stereo lights were dimer than the original)

eldiaoble - hows the light dispersion on the 168 leds? is it bright at all? hot spots or anything? can you maybe give me a better like instruction or how-to to do this? thanks!

mr.kenny - without the "condoms" do you get like that peachy color? what you mean by "white" light? just to be sure..

Light dispersion is not so great. I am quite sad about the hot spots. Its really bright in the center. I will try a picture later tomorrow. I will try DIY
