AC not working

I have a 1996 Avalon, the AC switch was intermittently working, now it has stopped working all together. When it did come on the AC was very cool and appeared fully charged. I checked the 10A fuse and it was fine. Any other thoughts?

if the light still lights up, there is a possibility that it is the clutch for the ac compressor, a lot of on/off over the years can wear that out. and another possibility is that the ac controller has come unplugged. that is easy to check also. it is located next to the radio behiend the bezel, and the raido and the modules that are attached to them need to be removed to check that. i removed my whole center console (radio, ect buttons, ac controls, and found out that the a/c will not function with it unplugged. those are two free tries to locating your problem. i hope it helps.

Thanks for the information. The AC started working for awhile and stopped again. When it stops working there is no light on the dash. I will take the dash out a try your suggestions. Thanks for your help.
