garmin gps + beanbag mount
I have a '98 avalon xls. I bought a Garmin C330 last summer for $250 for a trip up north. It only had a suction cup for the windshield; it occassionally comes off the windshield, just misses the open ashtray (so power cord can plug in) and then falls to the floor. Gets to be a pain in the ass. You can't leave it attached to the windshield as high temps no good for battery plus someone will definitely smash window and grab it. The new nuvi 200 and 200w (4.3") screen are down in price now. Garmin makes a nuvi beanbag mount with an arm that curves toward you with a ball on the end. The Garmin nuvi has a female socket on the back of it which snaps onto the stalk.
1)My Avalon has a curved dash on the drivers side with a steep angle to the windshield. I am concerned if I buy the garmin nuvi gps and the beanbag mount that they will not fit.
2)Has anyone on the board fitted a Garmin nuvi 200 or 200W GPS on the Garmin beanbag mount and put it on their Avalon's dash successfully?
On sale at office depot for $150 for regular nuvi and $180 for wide nuvi.
Try to play one off the other as far as price-matching with Sunday circular ad in hand, if the lowest price store is out of them.
