Which would you buy? Camry/Avalon

Hello
I would like your choice and any reasons for that. I am a first time buyer and I accidentally committed for a camry that had a rental history on it, and so now I convinced my dealer for a swapping with another vehicle. I narrowed down my search to these 3 vehciles:

1. Camry 2000 CE - Certified - 45KMiles - Privately Owned - $11700
2. Camry 2000 LE - Certified - 62KMiles - Leased Vehicle (3 parties) has a moon roof and side airbag extra - $11700
3. Avalon 1999 XLE - NotCertified - 81KMiles - Privately Owned - Looks good and perfect luxury w/ leather - $10500

I appreciate your help,
Thank you,
Vellay.

I would get the #2

2000 LE with a little extra sounds nice, eventhough it's 20k+ more miles then the CE.......it's still certified and will last you awhile. See if you can get an extended warranty.

Is that 2000 LE a V6?

Thanks for your views DJDM. #2 is not a V6, it is V4 and it was not as clean as #1 though. I was actually thinking of #1 as a better choice as it was privately owned and less miles, so I need not spend on an extended warranty. But I definitely like your views too.

This being the case, what would you choose if you are given the choice of #2 and another vehicle which is also camry 2000 LE, with a 60Kmiles for $10K, but was initially registered as a rental for the first one year. I am asking this because this is the car that I committed at first (without looking at carfax) and planning to swap (coz it had been a rental).

Thank you
Vellay.

Well in that case, if the CE is in better condition, then go for that.

But look around some more........I got my 2001 LE for $13k and it had 30k miles on it......still had the warranty on it.

Also, talk them down.

I would take the 00' Camry CE or the Avalon. Good luck, whatever the decision.

honestly, i would get #1 just by looking at that info,

leased cars.. the owners have a tendency to torture them a bit.. cause it's not like they're going to keep the car (and 3!)

#3 has miles a bit high and it's uncertified.. :T

just my opinions

someone should make a sticky about cylinder configurations.

but it would be interesting to see toyota make a boxer/horizontally opposed 4 banger like suburu

I am a big fan of moon/sunroof's so the LE would intrigue me most. I'd take the LE or Avalon. If you don't think the 4cyl is going to give you enough power, you should go for the avalon.

I say go with #2. The Sunroof is an important accessory.

but that poses an interesting question (for me at least), did ANY CAR COMPANY ever make and sell a V4 engine??? It would seem pointless to do that since there wouldn't be much power gain, and if it was it would be lost because of the extra weight.

i think some car company must of tried it once when they were experimenting with engine config, but it was probably a total flop.
