are these symptoms of a bad rack & pinion?

Lately my steering is very loose, lots of play. for instance, if there is a small hole or bump in the road I have to re center the car very exaggerated. the fluid level never drops and turning never gets stiff. I had a 4 wheel alignment done, didn't help. anyone ever have this? thanks!

Take it and have a professional look at it, it's usually free.

I would take it back to the alignment shop. There is NO WAY they should have missed this if what you are saying is accurate. I'm no expert but I would suspect the steering knuckle u-joint, ball joints, links. You've got something major wrong going on there.

Sounds like your shock might be out. Do you have weird tire wear? Like they said for the most certain way is to bring it o a shop and let them take a look at you car while is on the lift. Could be bad bushings or anything.
