How to chnage air filter on 95' Avalon

Hello all,

New here, how do I tke that cover off to get to the air filer. I unclipped the four clips, but cannot get the damn thing off. DO I need to use more force or am I missing a step.?

How often should I chage the air filter?

after the clips it should just slide up and out, most recommend changing about 8000 miles, check it every other oil change and change when needed.

Yea, once the clips are up just pry it up a bit and start trying to pull the filter out, it only needs to come up about 2-3 inches and you can slide the filter out.

forgive my 'tone' but really? this has been asked a ton of times and many recently, so all i ask is that you go through the first 3 or 4 pages of posts before you ask a question. there is a good chance that there is better answer out there on one of those posts and it will save you some time as well.

its just the 4 clips and the box has two little plastic nubs holding the side closest to the engine in, it takes some elbow grease to get it out sometimes. and change it ~8-9k depending on if you drive in a dustier area, etc.

I don't mind repeat questions. Yeah you can get the old filter out after undoing the 4 clips but just barely. I had to pull up real hard like something was going to break, then keep almost breaking things and it will open enough to pull it out. Then go thru the same b.s. to put the new one in. This should be easier.
