Gen1 Make suspension new again.

Hey guys,

Feels like the suspension in the car is getting nastier each day. I can feel every single bump on the road it seems. Also seems like the front of the car shutters when you hit some kind of bump. Was wondering what parts I need to replace to make this good again.

I am looking at "Tokico HP Shocks".

What else should I be replacing while in in there? I have brand new springs on the front as the other ones rusted out.

I'm willing to put $1500 into this as this car will be with me for a long time, It drives me nuts to feel and hear every bump. It's got 260,xxx km and still going strong I know I should also replace the strut mounts, Does anyone know where to get a full kit for this other than Toyota?

Or do you think I can get away with replacing certain parts?

Thanks in advance.

Eerything ages over time. Strut mounts, bearing , bellows, insulators, etc.... Replacing all save you headache later on. I learned the hardway by just repalcing struts only. Rear strut installation takes a lot of time removing backseat & tightening bolts in not so comfortable settting. Bellows breaks in the foldings over time.

Expect to replace the stabilizer links.

check components first, but the big items are ball joints, control arms bushings, swau bar busings with end links. Struts can last a long time and if they don't bounce or make the strut mount clunk sound then dont waste your money. The items that made the biggest difference in my cars handling were the control arm bushings, sway bar busings and end-links.
