Exclamation HIDs not starting up

So I have HIDs in my avy and they wont start up. I hear the ballasts clicking, but that's it. All other electricals work. I know that they worked till 2 days ago when I last used them. I'm not too sure what happened, (maybe the kit drained my battery?) but I'm going to a friends place later to swap and test ballasts and bulbs.

Udate:
Since I got a final coming up (stupid summer school) I'm going to check my HIDs with my friend later this week. All I know is that my battery is running well (12.86v at cold and 14.something running so that means my charge system is not at fault.) I hope its just the ballasts or the bulbs cause running on plain halogens (I cant get to my silverstars at the moment) sux.... its so mellow and i miss my white lights

Battery voltage should really not have much to do it. Those ballasts/regulators should kick on with anything above 9-10 volts. But neither lamp works? do both ballasts emit the same noise/time?

Suggest taking a volt meter on the ballast input to make sure you're getting good voltage to that point, and then on the output. Be careful on the output, I'm not sure on exact numbers but I think they run at a couple hundred volts, like 450 or something.

So I fanally figured out it was my relay in my relay harness. The relay for some reason died/shorted/i know what happened. I asked the guys I bought it off of and they told me to go to radioshack to get a 12VDC 40AMP relay and they would reimburse me. Radiosahack only had a 14VDC 60AMP relay. I wonder if this is ok for the relays...

Relay in what harness, the fuse box for the original headlights or did the HID kit come with its own relay harness?

In any case a 12V 20 to 40A SPST relay will fix that, and they shouldn't be over 2 bux.
You can use the 60A relay as long as it has the same blade configuration on the bottom and want to get taken to the cleaners by radioshack.

Auto part stores have the relay for 4 dollars.
