Correct P/N for 1999 Rear Bank A/F Sensor

I need the correct p/n for bank 1 sensor 1 A/F sensor on my 1999, which is the "rear" bank at the firewall. Some of the Toyota Dealers give 89467-41021 and the others give 89467-41010, which swaps what they refer to as left and right sides. The Denso tech line gives 89467-41021 and says B1/S1 the right bank as viewed when sitting on the trans and looking out towards the accessory pulleys. For reference the p/n on the my front bank (B2/S1) is 82467-11010. Anyone with first hand experience with this?

Bank 1 is the bank nearest the firewall.

Bank 1 is always the bank where #1 cylinder is at; on a front wheel drive V6, it is the rear bank. If you want to know which one is bank 1 just find #1 cylinder.

Thanks guys. Yep, B1/S1 is the bank at the firewall. The problem is that the several dealerships give a different part numbers for this sensor. So, I am looking for the correct Toyota or Denso p/n for the B1/S1 sensor.

It will be different depending on if you have a Calif emissions car. I ran into this myself on my 99 Avalon. I bought the car in Delaware but it was built to comply with Calif emission standards. You can tell if you have a Calif emissions car by reading the label under the hood.

Can't understand why you are getting different numbers from different dealers. If you give them the VIN, they should know exactly what the correct part number is.

If all else fails, pull out the Bank 2 A/F sensor and read the part number off of it. It is very easy to get to.

Also, you may have a different number for Bank 1 and Bank 2 because the wiring harness has a slightly different length. I believe both wiring harnesses will work in both locations so no big deal.

You can also call Denso aftermarket and they will tell you exactly what you need based on VIN.

Surprising, I gave the VIN to all the dealers.

Is the lead length on the shortest sensor able to fit the longest sensor location?

Bank 1 is 10.63" (270mm) and Bank 2 is 13.78" (350mm). Obviously you can use the Bank 2 sensor in the Bank 1 position. You can probably use the Bank 1 sensor in the Bank 2 position if you route it over the lower radiator hose.

That is good info on the lead length.

I plan on using either a Denso or Toyota sensor. Denso is the OEM supplier according to the techs I spoke to. Any input or experiences on getting this sensor from the dealer vs a parts supplier that that gives a Denso OEM number? Prices are about the same at about $150. Most parts suppliers and dealers don't give returns on electrical parts, I'm not sure how good they are on a warranty.

I think I have resolved the p/n issue for the B1/S1, the correct Toyota p/n is 89467-41021. A Revised TSB EG002-00 with the 1MZ-FE Calif (V6) was issued for the Camry and identified P1133 code as B1S1 with an improved A/F sensor 89467-41021 from old sensor 89467-41020. Surprising this TSB is not listed for the Avalon in the sources I looked. Part of the problem with the was the Initial TSB stated the wrong sensor B2/S1 as89467-41011 and the dealer database might not have been updated. Denso tech line confirms p/n 89467-41021. The tech line also said the Denso p/n 234-9007 is the correct aftermarket sensor for B1/S1. Denso p/n 234-9007 is the OE part.
