Radiator fan constantly on.

I have a 97 Avalon XLS. My radiator fan is constantly running. Once I stick the key in and turn it one notch the fan would come and and stay on until I remove the key. Why is this? How do I fix it? Thanks.

You probably need to replace the relay for the radiator cooling fan motor. $50. No guarantee's, but this is my best guess.

Check the cooling fan switch and connection, if it is open it will cause the fans to stay on.

And I'd get it taken care of ASAP since it's not good to have the battery carrying a load each time you start the engine...similar to when people turn on their lights before cranking the engine...it'll degrade your battery faster compared to normal use.

By the thermostat, just follow th lower radiator hose, right above the transmission.
