LED Conversion and Exhuast

Hello this is a three part question. Just giving heads up that i have a 95 avalon

I was looking on Youtube recently and found this video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0ydNRApjTQ

I was just wondering if this APC exhuast is any good and where to buy it.

My second question was about led's for the car. I want to change my license plate bulb to make it look like a lexus's license plate color.

I was thinking about this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...%3D%26_fvi%3D1

and was wondering would it fit on my Avy.

Also what led's would i have to use on my spedometer. I was looking at past threads and people say to use the WLED-x5 LED Wide Angle LED bulb from http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...gi?product=CAR

Is it an easy install?

Sorry and last question and thank you for helping.

I know its universal so the bulb to led conversion is easy but is there a better recommendation?

Sorry im new to modding and thank you for helping

Have you ever replaced or access the back of your radio? If so its all the same.
Pop the trim around the radio out, there will be a little tube thing attached to a small vent near the key, detach it along with the hazard switch wire

Pop the trim/vent off to the left of the steering wheel

Lower the steering wheel, to get better access to three screws that hold that hood like thing in.

There will be one or two screws to the left of the wheel that hold that hood thing

there will also be 2 or 3 screws on the right side/radio area that hold the hood in.

Using some sort of plastic prybar or butter knife, pop the interior part of the hood from the rest of the dash, while working the bottom of it out too.

It should release, and there will be a wire/plug to the back of the temperature/clock info bar, as well as one attached to the dimmer wheel for the instrument lights. detach them to remove the hood.

The instrument cluster should then be staring right at you, 4 screws hold it in. remove them

The cluster should have some play now, enough to pull it out slightly and disconnect 3 wire harnesses plugging into the back of it.

The cluster will be free now. remove it to wherever you please. there are 4 twist in bulbs in the back that provide the illumination.

Reverse steps to reassemble it.

Also, dont be alarmed if you pop in your new bulbs and "test them out" before you reassemble the whole dash and find out that it dosent work! Its because the dimmer wheel is not plugged in, plugging it in should light your stuff. Caught me offgard a couple times.

Jigg,

I see you did a lot of LED work to your cluster and dash. On the speedometer, did you just replace the stock bulbs to get the 'gradient' lighting? Or did you do some custom LED work? I really want to do this to my dash with red LED's as the stock green is dull and not bright.

First I put packs of four 5mm leds in the stock lamp positons, which I lived with but the pattern had a couple hot spots, plus it was all blue so any red area on the cluster was dark.

What you see now is after I removed my previous attempt and just packed 50 or so wideangle LEDs behind the meters.

Also, I wired all the LEDs in paralell and created a voltage regulator for the lamps at like 3 volts or whatever they required. Nice thing about this is the cluster never changes brightness no matter the status of the electrical system.

Plus this even saves about 15 watts of power compared to the oem tungsten bulbs. ;D Currently I laid waste/free'd up about 4 amps of power from oem lighting, soon to tackle my tail lights and reduce stop light power by 10-12 amps.

Thanks for showing intrerest!

You did some really good work. I'm going to be taking some pictures of my Avalon soon, with what I have on it so far. Mines a little different, with the steering column shifter and the HVAC controls being dials.
