my 1997 toyota wont start, even after trying to jumpstart

i left my car charger in there for about 4 days. and came back to find my battery dead. i tried to jumpstart the car, but as soon as i open my doors the lights in the dashboard and front and back lights start flashing. the car wont start though, but everything that requires electricity in the car works. so lights, radio, windows, all of that. should i go buy a new battery ?

Does the engine turn over but not start?

Make sure you car does not have an alarm system that is causing the lights to flash, etc.

Yeah, I agree with the alarm. If the battery was shot, then the headlights wouldn't even work, let alone the other accessories do function.

And the only thing that would cause the head and tail lights to flash would be an alarm being triggered.

Try disconnecting the battery, and reconnecting it after a minute, see if it starts then.

(car charger to a cellphone? No way that could drain a battery in 4 days)
Also, if you found your car battery dead then how do the lights, radio function? Did you observe correct polarity for the jumper cables?
