Tail lights mods

i want to make my 98 avy all black but i dont know what to do with my tail lights. some people told me to paint them and others said to tint them any suggestions? and also any ideas on wat type of rims i should get?

i did mine for like 10 bucks all together. I only "tinted" the red area of the tail light leaving it half black and half clear. First i wet sanded the red area, and then applied several coats of black spray paint from autozone, but I know it's better to buy the expensive VHT Nightshade black. And after applying the black coats i put several coats of clear coat paint on there and this is what i got:
