o2 sensor

I have a 96 Avalon.I changed the 02 sensor 3 times,and light wont go off.I put in a factory sensor from toyota.Light wont go off.I changed the one near the radiator.Put it back on the computer,and still says o2 sensor.Cleared code,and still.I give up.Anyone knows wass up?

What code are you getting? It could be the O2 sensor for the rear bank, or it could be the one down by the catalytic converter.

I myself am having the same Engine Light. I have not changed it yet. Hopefully mine is just that.

Yeah, I saw that. Thing is, there are three different O2 sensors. He may have replaced the wrong one three times. There's one in the front bank's manifold, a second is in the rear bank's manifold, and a third is in the exhaust pipe near the catalytic converter. Hooking up a diagnostic tool and reading the specific error code will tell which one is bad.

Make sure you use a newToyota or Denso (oem suppler) brand sensor, or you are likely to have problem. If you determined you are replacing the correct sensor, then the other possibilities are you a have a problem with the ECU or the wiring to the sensor.
