Noise coming from under front valve cover

My avalon has jsut recently developed a noise that to me sounds like it is coming from under the front valve cover. It sounds like a plastic piece is being vibrated to hell . It is not the big plastic piece making the vibrating sound as i have taken that off to eliminte the problem. I am prolly going to tear into the valve cover wents the weather gets a little warmer.

My car shows no sign in lack of performance. So i know it cannot be serious. I know that if you are in P and give rev it to 1500 RPMs the noise goes away, but as soon as the RPMs drop back down the noise is there again. I am not blowing smoke or anyhting. my buddy who is a toyota mechanic said it might be a try? I forgot what he said.

so when i tear it apart, i will do both valve covers as they are notorious for leaking oil.

What spark plugs do you all recommned? I like the NGKs, anyone use them? Also has anyone ever experienced a problem like this?

There are some sheet metal baffles attached to the inside of the valve covers. Perhaps one of those has partially broken loose? Check them closely when you do the gaskets.

As for the spark plugs, I have used Bosches with no problems, although a lot of folks here swear they're the worst. Lot of folks recommend NGKs, so they're probably a safe bet. Whatever you decide to get, I'd say get some with platinum on both electrodes.

Thanks for responding Finally... I had no idea there were sheet metal baffels on the inside. When i do the valve cover gaskets i will take a look at those. Anyone else have another idea? Just trying to throw other ideas around

As for plugs, right now i am using Motorcraft Carbon plugs. They are prolly really old. So when doing the vlave cover gaskets i will be getting some NGKs
