I Start Up The Car, And Before The Thing Is Warmed Up In The Morning My Gears Arent Catchin'. Scary At Intersections When I'm Not Going Anywhere And All Of A Sudden It Catches And Im Burnin Out! Tranny Fluid Full. Had It Flushed As Well. Boutta Fix My Cv Here In A Couple Days. Want To Hit The Birds With 1 Stone (fix It All In 1 Day).
I never flush em, its been the kiss of death in the past.
Are you sure it's full? The tranny dipstick has two zones to read depending on the temp. Get the manual out and read how to check it -- warm, engine running or not.
Also, did they check the fluid in the differential too, and top that off?
Sounds a lot like low fluid that is taking a while to heat up.
Its not actually gears not catching, but fluid not turning the gears in the torque converter.

My mom's 95 did that a few years back. Filter was completely clogged and caused some serious damage. My dad changed the fluid a half dozen times over the course of 1000 miles. It's been fine since, but he still says the tranny has a death sentence. That was 75,000 miles ago tho.

No, mine has been bullet proof. I bought it at 140K. I found a local, independent oil change shop called Lubrication Corner in Franklin TN. for $29 bucks they drain the fluid out of the tranny pan and the differential, and then top it off. I did this with the first 3 oil changes until they said the fluid coming out looked nice and new. Now I do it every couple of oil changes with my moeller suction pump -- right out the dipstick tube. It suck out 2 quarts, and I put two new quarts in. This way I can keep an eye on the fluid condition.
I killed my old ford explorer tranny having a place like Jiffy lube flush it. When I first got this car I was going to drop the tranny pan and do the tranny filter. The guys at the lube place strongly recommended I wait until we did the fluid 2-3 times and got it replaced with a graeter proportion of newer fluid. Their take was nothing kills an old tranny like a shock to the system of doing all the fluid and a filter at one time. Since this corresponded to my experience with my explorer, I took it to hear.
Might it just be superstitious behavior? Maybe, but it works for me.
Now, 45K miles later, I still have not done the filter and just be sure and have them, or do it myself, the 2-3 quart fluid exchange every so many oil changes.
You probably know this, but the tranny holds probably (my manual is not with me, so this will not be exact) close to 10 quarts of tranny fluid, the pan hold about three and the differential about 1.
Good luck, I hope its just a matter of getting the fluid level up.

PS: sounds like we have the same cars, tint and all, but yours rocks out better. I have a pioneer deck but crappy sounding little 4 inch JBL speakers in the stock opening.
