Help! Can't find radio harness adaptor for 96??

Ok, went to put an aftermarket radio in the 96 Avy and the harness that I got from the auto parts store was wrong.

This is the one I bought:

The radio in the car is just a tape deck. It uses one long rectangle connector and the car has another that looks like it but with more pins taped off. Both are the same width... about 1.25" long or so.

The radio also has two antenna connectors... one is standard and the other rigth next to it is smaller...

What the heck am I looking at??? Can I even get an adaptor harness for this?

Wait, do I need this? http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1207081...ss.html?tp=736

If so... what the heck do the RCA connectors connect to??

Yes, that harness on Crutchfield is the one you need. You have the premium Toyota audio system in your car, as most Avalons do, therefore you need a special wiring harness to integrate it.

The RCAs send the signal to your factory amplifier (yes you have one, its to the left of your glove box).

Watch out though, mine and my girlfriends went bad.

Lame. I have a brand new Blaupunkt tape deck that I was hoping to use but it doesn't have RCA outputs. I had no intention of getting subs so I bought this one!

I need the tape deck as I use a cassette adaptor for my Zune.

You could get a line output adapter

or

Get two RCA Y splitters, a minijack to RCA adapter (radio shack has them), the adapter from Crutchfield, and rather than having your tape deck hooked up at all you could hook your Zune directly to the RCAs. It would be a ghetto fix but sound wayyyy better than a tape deck anyday.

it would look kinda like this

But if I connected the Zune directly into the amps I wouldn't have any function on the radio.
