external horn relay wiring.

Well, my P.O.S. horn contacts behind the airbag cover on my '99, won't make contact anymore. I've had to go and get myself a momentary pushbutton switch to serve as a horn button now. I don't want to splice the existing horn wiring underneath the steering column. I was wondering if anyone had a wiring diagram for a generic horn relay so that I don't burn out my switch. Any help appreciated.

its really easy, i wired one in myself for the same reasons. I ran a negative wire to the horn from the battery. I ran the positive to the button through the firewall to the horn button, i ran the wire from the other side of the button back to the external horn with an inline fuse for saftey. voila.

but I have a switch that's not rated for the amps from the battery directly all the time. I have to use a relay to keep from burning out the switch.
