Relay making a ticking noise - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

sounds like a time bomb...it's in the fuse box right next to the battery and is labelled "Head"...parts store doesn't carry and dealer is closed and I'm curious what the problem could be. Also, the car won't start, radio and clock won't come on, and power door locks don't work.
The part is labeled "Relay TOYOTA 90987-02006 056700-6912 12V

Anybody had this problem before? Thanks.

Put a charger on the battery this afternoon and now it starts with and without the relay. I haven't driven it anywhere for fear of breaking down. Still would like to hear anybody's thoughts...thanks

update...

I just figured out that the relay is for the headlights...duh. Anyways, I'm still concerned that there is a problem because I'm not sure why it would make that ticking noise and run the battery down. I'm sure somebody here has run across this problem so I'm anxious for a reply.
