Went through medium high water now transmission just grinds won't pull

Hello went through some high water this evening maybe 8 to 10 inches 1989 toyota 4 cylinder running fine. Wife said seem like it started to jerk toward passenger side. After driving through water drove about 2 miles turned started back now after starting makes a winding noise and strong growl noise when putting into drive......any help would be appreciated in the dark on this one....BiLLL

1989 Camry-Gone but not forgotten. Car has become a birthday gift for my cousin.
1997 Mazda B2300 213,xxx miles - New flasher relay installed.
