Another valve cover gasket thread

Hello from Atlanta. Getting ready to change 97 Avalon rear gasket. Car has 150k mi. Various info says change spark plug tube seals and seal packing on semi-circular plug grooves at cam ends. Any recommendations on doing these items? Also, any recommendations on reuse vs replace egr and throttle body gaskets? Thanks in advance.

For the valve cover gasket, i'd recommend that you use hi-temp RTV on the corners of the cam bearing journals. Pretty much any areas where the gasket is not mating against a flat surface you should use the RTV. As for the TB and EGR gaskets, you don't need to replace them unless they're falling apart, cracked or deteriorated when you take them out. The gaskets aren't that expensive so you may want to replace anyway.
