Replacing the power antenna

hey guys, i really hate the look of the power antenna and was wondering if its possible to replace it with some other antenna, preferrably one that doesnt stick out. does anyone know any? or is it possible to have the antenna not raise up/down but still have good signal? would there be really poor signal or a need for an antenna booster? i know friends that have broken antennas and still get good reception. thanks a lot for your inputs.

Well, the S2000 antenna is a pretty common conversion here, you might wanna give that a look. There are a whole lot of DIY on here, the search function is your best friend!

You might wanna take a look at the Gen 3 & 4 Camry section. It isn't a plug and play thing and as for any old antenna working, I'm not positive on that. You may wanna take a look at this thread:
Another Camry to S2000

Is that what you have in mind?

well i would prefer to just have the power antenna not raise up or down, and kept it down, but was asking do you guys think that itll have extremely poor reception if i did that. and also if it did have poor reception then would a antenna booster improve it significantly.

the s2000 conversion would be last option, as i would rather have nothing sticking up.

I would check out how the 98-99 avy's get their reception, you might want to adopt the antenna straight off of one of those. The only issue is reception. My mother owns a 98 avy and reception is nowhere nearly as good as my power antenna. My only issue with your idea is how to fill the hole left by the power antenna. You would probably have to have it professionally filled and painted.

Originally I wanted to go with the S2000 antenna but than I looked at the cost to convert and its a little bit much.

There is a cheaper alternative which is the Shark Attack Antenna
Need help with my antenna

The link to purchase it is

I will be doing this soon but just purchased HIDs so its gonna take a while
