knocking sound ?

Hi new guy here, My wife's 1999 avalon has a nocking sound coming from the front passenger corner when she applies the brakes. It sounds like the caliper or strut spring is loose and cousing the noise. I pulled the calliper off and took a good look but I can't find any thing loose or out of the ordinary. Can someone point me in the right direction. Thanks

Like a really fast knocking sound? Ours did that, and it was a warped rotor.

a slight scraping sound that varies with speed? I have this along with a sound that sounds like "dragging a chain".

I don't know how you could describe either of those two noises with a knocking sound, but yeah, maybe you could supply more info about it. Maybe take your digital camera in the car with you and post a video of the noise?
