doors are filled with water

During summer I have been riding my motorcycle and my 98 avalon has been sitting. I started driving my car again and I notice that every time it rains my driver side rear door and passenger side front door is accumulating water. This is really odd. I have to leave the door open to drain the water out because there is a rubber strip (strip that reduces the road noise) is blocking the drain holes when the door is closed. What I can do is remove that rubber strip from the door but I still don’t want to do that. I want to know any of u guys have this problem?

i don't have this issue, but if you want to leave the strip, maybe just cut out a little piece of the rubber at the drain holes so it can drain.

I have the exact same problem only with my rear passenger side door. It acculmulates so much water that when I close the door you hear the slish and sloshing. What I do is take out the two screws at the very bottom and the water slowly drains. I tried putting eletrical black tape on the window thinking it was going through the rubber seal and the window, but it turned out it didnt work.

I have been searching for an answer for a while but cant find it hopefully someone else on this forum will be able to help us out.

Same problem, I drilled two small holes in the bottom of each door.

Same problem. I drilled holes too, but that was for the front. Now the backs are at it.

Toyota's sloppy job of under door molding installation is the cause. Metal sheet holes and Molding holes DON'T align on any of the doors. Drill holes on molding to match the door shell will solve the problem. Ist time I had problem was right after krown rust protection. I guess that the grease blocked the only available small gap & caused it to collect water.

Collecting water is one problem, but the bigger problem I had was in Winter(live in Toronto), car windows inside filled with a a sheet of ice. Heater, defogger, A/C, etc.. melt the ice but fogg the windows. This year I drilled holes on door molding to align drain holes, & hope this will take away the problem.

I would not recommend drilling holes - it will lead to corrosion, beside it's not necessary. I had the same problem last year and had to take out the panel and get the water out using towels until I found out that the water is suppose to go through you window and exit out in the bottom. What happens is the holes in the bottom get clogged over time from debris you get through the window so all you have to do is clean those holes out. They are located somewhere on the bottom - it's not very obvious. This issue was solved before, use search. If still can not find it I will take pictures and post them here.
