Engine Missing

97 XLS, 128,000 miles, bought new. 1st problem. Misses under steady speed, the slower the more pronounced & almost disappears at 70 plus. Doesn't miss at all until engine warms or during acceleration. Had dealer install new plugs at 90,000, but wouldn't let me watch. Missing just started, I put in new wires myself. No change. Anybody know anything I can check, or if I have to take it to dealer, what I can expect. Thanks for any thoughts.

i had the same problem after changing the plugs. i changed the wires didn't solve the problem. the problem was my coil. when they changed it they broke the boot and spark is leaking. (it sparks from the broken boot instead of in the spark plug)

Not really on topic here, but when I saw the title of this thread, my first thought was that you couldn't find your engine. It's been a long day...
