1995 Toyota Avalon Oil Filter

I have been using Purolator PureONE PL10241 oil filters in my 1995 Toyota Avalon for a few years now. I happened to stumble across a thread online that said that other vehicles that use the PL10241 are able to use the PL20195, which is a longer filter and should have more filter media:

I would like to use this filter if possible. I do not do the oil changes on my avalon, so I do not have first hand experience to know if it would fit. Does anyone know if it would fit?

Notice that the top of the filter is still attached.

I do not see how that is relevant to whether or not this filter would fit in my car.

i just put a motorcraft FL-400S into my 99. it is longer than stock and fit easily, i think it'll actually make it easier to change, too.
i know it doesn't answer your question either, but it's all i got.

I would just keep on using the Purolator Pureone filters. As you probably know, some of these early avalon engines were susceptible to oil sludge. I change my '98 3.0L V-6 every 3K just like the owner's manual says. Since I don't put a lot of miles on my car lately, I have been just using a quality oil and the regular purolator oil filters. I used to have an expensive, (but used) BMW R1100RT sports-tourer motorcycle. Lots of the guys used Purone oil filters and synthetic oil instead of paying over $20 plus state sales tax just for a damn original bmw oil filter. Make sure you put in a new pvc valve regularly too (like every 30K). I used the factory pvc valve from toyota. If you want to find out more about how your engine internals are wearing, at the next oil change, get some of the used oil in a vial. Do a web search for Blackstone oil analysis lab and contact them for instructions & prices.
