96 Avy.Just changed my Vacuum Modulator. It still makes some noise and has power los

So I got a 'Engine Check' sign. I drove it around with it for a week or so. Then all of a sudden it started making sound(like a burst muffler) and lost power. I got it checked and it was a P0401 code . It was from a faulty Vacuum Modulator. I replaced it a couple of days ago. The Engine Check sign went away but the engine still has some power loss and is still making some sound (though lesser than when it had a faulty modulator). What could be the problem?

A loose hose perhaps.

Use a section of hose as a stethoscope to run down the area of the noise.

The Camry with V6 option uses the same engine, might get more responses posting in the Camry section.
