95 avalon clock dim

My 95 avalon has become sick. The clock has faded, it is not tied to the dimming switch. It is independent and glows bright when the car is on. Recently it has become dim, any diagnosis?

Bulbs may be out, possibly? Two or three of mine would sometimes work, and they were side by side in the cluster.

The clock is just one VFD, it normally dims when the dashboard lights up. If it's dim with headlights off, it may just be dieing. If that's the case, you'll just have to replace the whole module unless you can find a new clock vfd to solder on.
