Gen1 98 XLS - JVC headunit

Been searching the threads regarding the various options and solutions regarding the 7 speaker system (98 Avalon XLS) that I have recently acquired.

Was researching options on the Crutchfield website and found this little gem... JVC KW-XG700. Reading the specs and descriptions... sounds like its a direct fit with the existing wiring, speakers with sub, and amp (6 preamps plus a selectable sub output).

The HU had great customer reviews...

It sounds like its an expandable option... and a best fit... am I missing something?

FWIW, i have always been very happy with JVC and highly recommend their product. i've had good luck with crutchfield, too. shoot them an email or give them a call with your concerns. when i spoke to them a couple of years ago i got the impression that they weren't untrained salespeople, they really knew their stuff.

Make sure you get a http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1207081...ss.html?tp=736 to connect into the factory amp unless you plan on rewiring the speakers. Also, the factory amp does not accept a separate subwoofer input, so that functionality will not be used unless you upgrade to a separate subwoofer/amp. Other than that, it should work perfectly.
