Gen1 Avalon maintanence help

I am planning to do an extensive maintenance service on my Avalon, so far I am going to change:

-Transmission Fluid(at the dealership)

-Spark Plugs and Wires

-Timing Belt and Water Pump(possibly)

-Coolant Flush

-Fuel Injection Cleaner

-Seafoam

-Rotate Tires and Clean Air Filter

-Engine Oil and Filter

-New Wiper Blades and Battery Terminals

Is there any thing that I should be doing at 125k?

Other than visually inspecting your Avalon from stem to stern, the only other thing I can think of is to lube the chassis. Also, if your battery is over 4 years old I'd replace it as a matter of course.

Call around to various shops to find out your prices, I'm assuming different prices for different regions of the country.

Since it's a minor part of the overall cost of maintaining your Avalon, I'd recommend getting a factory service manual from Haynes or Chilton which will provide all the points. They should include as well the door hinges and trunk lock. I used to do mine but got lazy after the first year and now my private mechanic does it for me....

i dont get rear diff fluid. i dont think any avalons had a rear diff. but since you are rotating tires check the brake pads and lube the caliper pins.

LOL, you only should change the rear diff fluid when you drive in reverse alot...
Toyota refused to put a rear diff in the Avalon - I say we petition for a safety recall.

Can anyone help with advice on SeaFoam? I am also planning to do on my 98 but not sure how to best put it directly into the engine.

its been a while since ive done this . i believe you unplug the vacume line that goes to the brake booster and add the seafoam from there with the engine running. the engine vacume will suck the liquid out of the can.

The procedure is pretty much outlined on the can. I would use half the can in both through the brake booster and through the PCV valve and the other half in the crank case or gas tank. After a few hundred miles I would changed the plugs out to, there's a chance that the Seafoam may have loosened some stuff out and fouled the plugs up.

Thanks robcam13 and humanoid. Appreciated. Have you both used SeaFoam and recommend it? What should expect the results of using it to be??

You might also want to look at the Fuel Economy forum. There have been several threads in there discussing Seafoam.
