98 Avy Electrical Issue

Not sure if these two are related but about a 1 or 2 months ago the passenger heated seat quit working no power on the switch light. Not a big deal but today there is no power on the AC/Heater, Outside temp display and security red light but there is power on the selector for floor vent etc but no blower. I parked the car and when I restarted everything worked and the AC came on. About a mile down the road everything quite again and I have not been able to get it going again. It sounds like a connection issue but I'm not quite sure where to look. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated.

For a connection issue you could remove the radio trim, and various modules behind it. I know theres this large unmarked box above the ac controls with a bunch o' wires going into it. My guess is that its for acessory controls.
Just unplug all the AC modules, radio, and whatever else immediately there and spray contact cleaner into the plugs and modules. Let dry and reassemble. Could also be a shabby ground connection.

After researching it appears to be the dreaded AC Amplifier at a cost of $450.00 from Toyota parts due to a defect they knew about according to there 1999 Service Bulletin, OUCH.

Has anyone replaced one and if so what is involved.

Thanks
