Need HELP-Need Toyota Part #'s for Solenoid Plunger/Contacts?

My starter only does the dreaded 1 click now--the worst part is, I'm not even at home (!) so I need to get a solenoid rebuild kit ASAP (can't wait on ebay sellers etc). Anyone know the Toyota part #s to do a rebuild on a starter solenoid in a 95 Avalon XL(I've already tried ToyotaPartsExpress just to get the part #)? If I can get the part numbers hopefully one of the two closest Toyota dealers have them in stock....

Btw, I've already checked connections are tight, corrosion free etc--I've even tried doing a jump start thinking the battery was weak--it made zero difference--still only got the single click when turning the key

In the event I can't get the parts, what about:

taking the starter out and opening up the solenoid and just cleaning the contacts/plunger with steel wool/sand paper etc? Think it would make any difference?

As a last resort (before throwing $200 away at Auto Zone) what about doing something like what was done back in the day when solenoids used to go out (they'd use a screwdriver and go from the 12V term to the starter contact--just to get the vehicle started)?

Any help greatly appreciated!

-----

well I have some Toyota part numbers for a solenoid rebuild kit but I don't know if they're for an Avalon (I don't know what the Avalon copper contacts look like)):

If you'll post your model specifics, I might be able to at least get you the correct part #.

At $60 bucks isn't that getting into rebuilt starter territory, once you trade in the core? I know you've had bad experience with window motors but I've had pretty good luck with rebuilt starters. But, it has been years since I bought one so they are probably a bit more expensive now.

P.S. Here is another starter rebuild thread with part numbers. '96 Tacoma might use same starter as Avalon.

Here they have kits for $14.

IMDisaster, thanks for the info. I found a place in TN that sells first rate rebuilds on alternators/starters etc)--their starter for an Avalon runs $80. Can't recall their name or I'd add their link.

THANKS for the part numbers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now that I have my Avalon running it's time to hit the road.

Have a GREAT weekend!

Thanks all!

Thanks a bunch MR2Jedi! Btw, the link to that company (DB Electric in TN) with the $80 rebuilt Avy starter:

http://www.db-starter-alternator.com...7534%20SND0166

I've ordered Chevy alternators from them and they were much better than ones costing twice as much @ jobbers and their shipping was quick....(don't mean to sound like a commercial but their stuff is very good and their prices are excellent!)

---

Finally made it home (thank God!) WHEW!

After checking on all the parts, part numbers, prices etc for what's necessary to do the rebuild, it turns out the parts+ship is in the $55 range (+ the hassle of doing the rebuild/making sure I have all the correct replacement parts, that it works etc) and then I looked back at DB Electric's new (not rebuilt as I first thought!) w/ Warranty starter @ $97 incl. Shipping.....

No contest.

The new one will be here Wednesday

--

In any event, thanks to all for the help!
