1mz- no spark

I have a 1997 avalon with no spark at the coils. it's got a 3.0l 1mz in it. I've replaced everything related to the ignition system except the crank sensor. when I check the resistance of the crank sensor it's within the limits for 1 second, then the reading disappears. no matter how many times i check it i get the same reading for 1 second.
This all started with a "no-start"condition and 1 code ...po340- camshaft sensor. I replaced the cam sensor, no change.. I verified the timing marks 5 times, it's dead on. I used my All-Data to trouble shoot the wiring for the cam sensor, checked for continuity and shorts, nothing unusual . some one suggested iron filings on the sensor, so i pulled the valve cover to clean it. I also checked to make sure the cams were spinning. I've checked for power at the coils and power at the igniter. I've replaced the computer, the coils and the igniter. And as far as i know there was no security system on avalons in 1997.....I've hit a brick wall and need some fresh eyes.... and this All-Data manual leaves a lot to be desired

doing a Google search "P0340" I found this about a 2002 Toyota Tundra:

A code P0340 could mean one or more of the following has happened:
•a wire or connector in the circuit could be grounded/shorted/broken
•the camshaft position sensor may have failed
•the PCM may have failed
•there exists an open circuit
•the crankshaft position sensor may have failed

Here are some things to try:
•Visually inspect all the wiring and connectors in the circuit
•Check for continuity in the circuit wiring
•Check the operation (voltage) of the camshaft position sensor
•Replace the camshaft position sensor as required
•Check the crankshaft position circuit as well
•Replace circuit wiring and/or connectors as required
•Diagnose/replace the PCM as required

Just another thought: have/have access to the Toyota printed service manual for your vehicle?
Failing that, I wonder is there anyone on this forum with this manual that could help you? (I'd be happy to--but I don't have this manual).

In any event, Good luck with it

Solved

I went back to the beginning of the problem and started over. I had removed the harmonic balancer to verify the timing marks, and with the balancer off had the engine was running. Thats when the "no spark" started. Turns out the crank gear slid outboard about 1/4 inch and the hall effect sensor lost it's signal. tapped the gear in and it fired right up.
