Locked out of Trunk....

Now I've really done it....

I've locked my car/house keys in my trunk (1995 Toyota Avalon XL)! I have a spare ignition key (I don't have a Master) but it won't work on the trunk. Any ideas how to get in the trunk (the manual trunk release is turned "off"--some Valet lockout feature I wish the Hell I didn't have! ).

Any suggestions on how to get into the trunk other than spending who knows how much to have a master key made at a Toyota dealership using the VIN?

Any and all comments, suggestions, ideas etc greatly appreciated!

God that's a relief--I was worried it'd be like $100+! Robcam13-Do they cut it right there or do they order it or? Any idea?

THANKS AGAIN!

they cut it on the spot. and it is 100+ if it was a newer car with a chip key but even then you can get a non chip key cut- it just wont start the car. but 1st gen avalons dont have chip keys. not every dealer cuts keys by the vin but most do. good luck. it sucks u locked your keys in the trunk been there.

When I bought my car, it only came with the valet key and I too was locked out of the trunk. The dealership could order a key for $50 and have it reprogramed for $50. I was able to remove the back seat and cloth panel and crawl into the trunk. I realize it has been several days since you posted your problem but I hope this helps someone else in the future.

Good luck!
