Gen1 New Noise after car sits all night when put in reverse and when moving steering wheel

hey everyone

this is amazing the money i am spending on the ac stuff and rack unit now a new noise has appeared.

The car sits all night. I go to start it up and put it in reverse to back out and there is a growling sound put it back in park no noise. I had the tranny fluid changed in november and the tech did not say any problems to watch for.

So after the car has warmed up no noise only happens after sitting all night and just started Tuesday this is wild...it has been such a fantatsic car.

I am starting to get concerned though just barely 193,000 and the car has been wel taken care of no rough housing with it etc.

any suggestions as to what it might be will be appreciated

thanks in advance
Skully

Gen1 Attention Think tanks let me ask you this

Hi everyone

I guess this is a issue that has been posted in camry section etc.
About the noise after sitting overnight and then the noise goes away
after driving it and things warm up.

Well today I was thinking about the problem and saying to myself what could cause this and what did I do to the car recently.

Ok this is where I would like any techs or service people to think.

What I did recently when I was working on the ac and installing the new
compressor was put on a NEW SERPINTINE BELTand made sure it was TIGHT.

I listened to the nosie today after it sat and the noise is coming from the timing inner engine area.

My thoughts are that the new belt is now putting more load on the timing pulleys and in the morning after the belt is not warmed up cause it has sat over night makes the engine groan a bit cause the engine and belt need a few seconds to stretch and loosen up.

Any one care to comment on my premise?

Loosen or remove belt and see if the noise goes away.

maybe look for a cracked weld on a converter heat shield.

if you take the belt off and the noise goes away then you know its a pulley or belt. could be a motor mount. also hold your foot on the brake put it in drive and give it a lot of gas. have someone listen where the noise is.
