Intermittent Right Front Tick/Tock Noise?

I've searched the forum and see about CV joints and wheel bearings when these Avy's have ticking in the drivetrain. I sometimes get a faint to slightly louder tick or tock noise sometimes when I'm just going straight accelerating and sometimes when I'm in a turn. *Rarely does this noise occur if my foot is off the gas* Any ideas what the trouble might be other than CV joints (I've already visually inspected the CV Joint boots (all 4 of them (inner /outer Left/Right) and they all look to be intact)? I don't think a mid-shaft bearing is going to exhibit my symptoms--seems like they'd howl/rumble all the time....

THANKS in advance for any help, advice, suggestions, guidance etc.

Doesn't seem my problem is a wheel bearing at all after watching different YouTube videos--looks like it's the CV shaft(s): Here's how to replace wheel bearings on an old Toyota (if anyone is interested) courtesy of YouTube and one FAST mechanic named Scotty Kilmer:

Below are some nice videos on how to take out and reinstall a CV shaft (doesn't look that hard at all! Famous Last Words Right? lol):

and to reinstall:

Thanks YouTube!

Well this is what I've found so far on replacement CV shafts:

http://www.carpartsdiscount.com/auto...tml?3593=81708

No idea about this company or the quality of it's parts....

Are there any brands/sources (other than OEM Toyota of course) I should be looking for with CV shafts? (I sure don't want to buy junk only to have to replace it in 12,000 miles!)

Finally, are these CV shafts supposed to be replaced in pairs or doesn't make any difference? Seems like individual replacement would be just fine....

ok.... the classic test of cv joints is to go to an empty parking lot, crank the wheel all the way left (then right) and drive in a tight circle. accelerate. if it clicks, it's bad. back off the gas. if it clicks, it's bad.

o'riley has new cv joints for less than autozone and the rest charge for rebuilts.
