What would be best to remove goo and gunk left over from the double sided tape?

were there any holes after you took off the moldings? And doesn't it leave an indent in the side of the car ? Will you fill it in or leave it?

I think I confused you, I was replacing the double-sided tape because it got old and it was coming off. Just put the bsm back on with 3 strips of double sided tape.

Has anyone removed them and filled in the indents? I was thinking about doing that because mine needs a paint job done on it. Just wounduring what it looks like.

Filling in just the exposed holes, or the entire channel where the molding resides?

I suppose it would give a cleaner, simplistic look, if you were to fill the channel, but I think moldings look cool, and serve as a functional addition minimizing door dings!

Jigg007, I have a Homelink device that I ripped out from a es300 visors I connected it to the 12volt and ground wires for the drivers side vanity mirror and it blew a couple of fuses. Could I be wiring it wrong? Thanks (I will take pictures tomorrow)

Fuses in the avalon, or built in fuses on the visor?, Fuses will blow typically if polarity of an electronic device is reversed, or over powered. like if the visor stuff was operated on 5 volts. But I can't say exactly, I dont even know what a homelink device is- im guessing its one of those RF remote repeaters.
