Smoking? or not...

change your PCV valve!

It costs less than $5 and takes about 1 minute to install. It's peeking out from under the right (passenger's) side of the plenum, on the rear bank. just pull / gently pry it up out of the valve cover, pull the plastic valve out of the hose, push the new one in and then back, into the valve cover. DONE!

the pcv valve rules the vacuum in your engine. it can quite literally suck all the oil out if it gets stuck. if it leaks it can mess everything up by causing false vacuum readings to the ecm (computer).

so change it already!

Well when I was taking the picture with my left hand, my right hand just could not resist changing the PCV valve. It simply could not wait!

this was quite possibly the simplest and cheapest thing i've done to my car... and it helped smooth out the idling a fair bit.
